2017 Morristown St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Good morning Brothers,
I know this is a bit late but it was an idea that had just been thought of.  Morristown hosts one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the entire state.  Morris County AOH Division One has been marching in it for years and that tradition continues in 2017.  I would like to extend an invitation to all our NJ AOH brothers to march along side of us on Saturday, the 11th.  The parade steps off at 12:00PM.  We will be lining up behind the municipal building (that is the building across the street from King’s Market on South Street).  We will begin to gather at 10:30AM to get ourselves in line with the rest of the parade marchers.  If you or any brothers in your division plan on attending the parade and would like to join us in marching, we would welcome that with open arms.  No need to respond back to me….just show up between 10:30 and 12:00 and be ready to walk and show your pride to the VERY large crowd that appears every year.  Sorry again for the short notice but if you can make, that would be great.  I will be adding some more information to our Facebook page as well so direct yourselves and your division members there if you find the opportunity to come on Saturday.
Thank you for your time in reading this.

Jim Devaney

Passing of Mary McHugh, Wife of Brother Hugh McHugh

Brothers,

I just learned that Mary McHugh, wife of our brother Hugh McHugh, had passed away on November 2, after years of her struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Through all that time brother Hugh devoted all his efforts to her care and comfort.

There will be a viewing this afternoon, Sunday, November 6, 2016 between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (Phone: 973-887-3235), with the Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 9:30a.m. on Monday, November 7th at Saint Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 179 Baldwin Road, Parsippany. This is not much notice, but if you can take the time either today or tomorrow, I ask that you show your support for our brother in this difficult time.

If any will be attending this afternoon, please contact me at 973-515-0933 and let me know. I am planning to arrive at Par-Troy Funeral home around 3:30 pm. If we can get together as a group there, I’m sure Hugh will appreciate it.

Yours in Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity,

Michael E. Griffin

August 2016 Business Meeting

Good evening brothers,
I hope the summer has been good to you and your families.  Attached is the current monthly schedule for our meetings.  It was not possible to keep our standard meeting time of third Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 which you’ll notice on the planner.  I was not able to maintain those Wednesdays with the church to due scheduling issues.  Though there are the changes, please make every effort to come out and support the division this year and next.  We are looking to do an event or two this year and we’ll be looking for volunteers to help get these things off the ground and running.
Our first meeting is Wednesday August 31 at 7:30PM.  This is our first one back after hiatus and we will be looking to announce candidates and vote for the executive board seats.
I hope to see everyone there next Wednesday…especially those who are looking to join the board.
In our Motto,
Jim Devaney
